(Palmerola- Tegucigalpa. Your Arrival in Honduras)
You will arrive at Palmerola International Airport. We will take care of your transfer and accommodation in Tegucigalpa, the capital of Honduras. Enjoy a welcome dinner, and you can recharge in a comfortable hotel room before embarking on your adventure.
Day 2
(Tegucigalpa - Jamastrán Valley. The Tobacco and Cigars Experience)
After breakfast, we'll assign you your motorcycle and have an introductory talk before starting our route east, alternating between mountains and plains until we reach the Jamastrán Valley. There, you'll visit a tobacco farm and a cigar factory, learning firsthand about the culture, its production processes, and an international-level cigar tasting. We'll enjoy our rest in an old colonial house transformed into a boutique hotel.
Day 3
(Jamastrán Valley -Talgua Caves. The Millenial Cementery)
We continue our journey, leaving the paved road behind to delve into the heart of Olancho until we reach the mythical Talgua Caves. This archaeological site and ancient cemetery dates back to 900-1000 BC and is commonly known as the Cave of the Shining Skulls, due to the effect of the calcium mineral coating the skeletal remains, preserving this historical legacy for generations.
Day 4
(Talgua Caves – Trujillo. The Navigator´s Indies)
We will leave the depths of the mountains to conquer the Caribbean. During this journey, we will enjoy ecological transitions, from coniferous forests to dry, tropical forests, wetlands, and white sand beaches. We will culminate at the place where the explorer Christopher Columbus changed history and redefined our culture for the present day.
Day 5
(Trujillo – Tela Bay. Immerse in the Carribbean)
Before leaving Trujillo, we will visit the Santa Bárbara Fortress, a stone bastion that withstood the siege of Caribbean pirates and buccaneers for 300 years. After learning about the Navigator's story, we will continue our journey along the coast. The road invites us to a vibrant immersion in the rhythm of drums played by the Garifuna people, with whom we will share gastronomy and culture. We will end the day with dinner at the Tela Marine Aquarium.
Day 6
(Tela – Lake Yojoa. Bird Santuary)
We leave the turquoise Caribbean behind to delve into the heart of the country. Yojoa is a volcanic lake flanked by two national parks with numerous archaeological sites and a wealth of unique ecosystems. We will visit the Los Naranjos Archaeological Ecopark, a testament to its high biodiversity and the legacy of ancient cultures such as the Maya.
Day 7
(Lake Yojoa – Copán Ruins. Mayan Splendor)
We will awaken to the sounds of birdsong and venture into western Honduras. Our destination is the Athens of the Mayan world, so named for the artistic mastery evident in its stelae and architectural details, not forgetting the iconic hieroglyphic stairway that recounts the dynasties of Copán's rulers, the largest text written in stone in the Americas. To end the day, we will enjoy the relaxation of the thermal waters in a natural eco-spa designed according to the Mayan worldview.
Day 8
(Copan Ruins – Marcala. Coffee with Designation of Origin)
We'll take advantage of the morning's pleasant weather to visit the Copán archaeological site. It will be a profound encounter where the jungle embraces the history of an ancient civilization that continues to thrive. We'll then continue on to the first Central American region with a designation of origin for coffee, traveling through a Biosphere Reserve and passing through villages of the Lenca people.
Day 9
(Marcala – Amapala. Colors of the Pacific)
The best coffee of the day is in the morning, so we'll visit a coffee farm with the farmers, who will share their techniques, the character of the region that holds the designation of origin, and the world-renowned coffee culture. It will be a sensory experience that will sharpen our senses for our next destination. We'll descend from the mountains to the Pacific coast, trading our motorcycles for a boat to reach the small, historic colonial town of Amapala Island.
Day 10
(Amapala – Tegucigalpa. Honduras Say Goodbye)
On our last day, the sea breeze invites us to explore the historical landmarks of Amapala Island, part of the Gulf of Fonseca Archipelago National Marine Park, a trinational paradise shared by Honduras, El Salvador, and Nicaragua. We return to our motorcycles after a boat tour of its natural treasures. Tegucigalpa awaits us to close this chapter, becoming the final setting where we'll toast to the adventure and the bond forged in the heart of America.
Day 11
(Tegucigalpa – Palmerola. Honduras in it essence)
